Travel Information:
You
can fly directly to Salamanca Airport. There are daily flights to
Barcelona (with Lagun Air and Air Nostrum). Another option is to
fly to Valladolid Airport or Barajas International Airport in Madrid,
the closest airports to Salamanca.
From
MADRID to SALAMANCA:
Madrid Airport is located 12 km (8 miles) northeast of Madrid.
Since the airport is placed within the council of Barajas, the airport
is called Madrid-Barajas.
1. Traveling from Madrid airport to Madrid City
Center
If
your flight lands at Terminal 1, you need to get to Terminal 2 by
the free Bus Shuttle (runs every 3 minutes). Please, click this
link (http://www.aena.es/)
or this link (http://madrid-mad.worldairportguides.com/terminal-maps.php)
to view a Madrid Airport Map showing the bus shuttle and Underground
(line 8). If your flight lands at Terminal 4, you will find an Underground
Service direct to Madrid City Center (METRO).
Once
at Terminal 2, the cheapest way to get into Madrid City Center is
by underground (METRO). The only available line at the Airport is
LINE 8. Please, have a look to the Madrid Underground Map
to localize it (see northeast): http://www.metromadrid.es/export/sites/metro/comun/documentos/planos/Planoesquematicoespanol.pdf
Of
course, there are plenty of Taxis to get to Madrid city center.
This may cost around 20 to 30 Euros depending where you go, and
you can get them from any Terminal.
2.
Traveling from Madrid city center to Salamanca by Train
From
Madrid Airport (Line 8), change at Nuevos Ministerios to Line 10
north direction (Fuencarral direction) and get down at Chamartin.
Chamartin is a Train Station where trains depart to Salamanca.
Please, visit the following link to view the timetable of trains
from Madrid to Salamanca: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html
There
is the possibility to purchase your ticket (15.85 euro) online.
However, you will not be able to download the ticket if it is the
first time that you use this system. In such a case, you still can
pay the ticket online, note the reference number (or print the window)
and get the ticket at the train station desk (you will be asked
to show the same credit card you used to purchase the ticket online).
However, your seat will only be booked up to 1 hour before the departure
time. In the event that you arrive at the desk after 1 h before
the departure time, there still might be the possibility to get
it, depending on how busy is that train. Of course, you can also
forget about buying online and get the ticket directly at the station.
The
trip to Salamanca takes 2 hours and 20 minutes. Once there, the
best option is to get a Taxi from Salamanca train station (called
Vialia) to your hotel. The taxi should cost around 4-8 euro.
3.
Traveling from Madrid-Barajas Airport
to Salamanca by Bus

Hotel. The taxi should cost around 4-8 Euros.
From VALLADOLID to SALAMANCA:
Valladolid´s
airport, Villanubla, is situated 11 km outside of Valladolid. The
most convenient way to get to either the bus or train station is
by taxi. However, it is also possible (although not very frequent)
to catch a bus from the airport to the city centre. The Taxi
service runs from the airport to the bus station and costs around
15 Euros. It is also possible to reach the Auto-Res bus station
by bus service running from the airport (Linecar). Bus services
