1999 Syposium for Applied Computing (ACM SAC'99)
February 28-March 2, 1999
The Menger, San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.
Call for Tutorial Proposals
An integral part of
The Symposium on Applied Computing
is the tutorial program. Since the Symposium focuses on
applications, tutorials tend to stress
state-of-the-art technology which may be applied directly to the
work of practioners in the field.
Tutorial Proposals
Prospective tutorial presenters are invited to submit proposals for
tutorials in all areas of experimental computing and application
development. Tutorials will typically be half-day tutorials. The
proposal should be no more than 500 words (approximately 2 single
spaced pages), including a brief summary and outline of the tutorial,
the specific goals and objectives of the tutorial, the expected
background of the audience, a biographical sketch of the presenter,
and details about what audio-visual equipment is required for the
tutorial presentation.
All tutorial submissions should be sent to
the SAC '99 Tutorial Chair at the address below and must be received
by October 12, 1998.
Notes for Prospective Tutorial Presenters
- The tutorials will be on Sunday, February 28, the day before the
symposium program begins. Both morning and afternoon sessions are
planned.
- An honorarium is paid to the presenter in lieu of actual travel
expenses and the amount is based upon number of registrants.
- Accepted tutorials will be offered based on sufficient registration
as mutually agreed upon by the presenter and SAC.
- Tutorial presentations should not assume any specialized equipment is
available to the audience (e.g. for hands on demonstrations).
Enquiries and submissions relating to the tutorial programme should be sent
to the Tutorial chair, Richard Sincovec.
